It is my great pleasure to welcome you to our website.
Nagle Community College is a vibrant, inclusive and progressive school community at the heart of Mahon, Blackrock and the wider Cork community.
At Nagle Community College, our vision is rooted firmly in the core values of Cork ETB: excellence in education, care, community, respect and equality. These values shape who we are, how we work together and, most importantly, the experience we strive to provide for every student who walks through our doors.
I am proud to lead the Nagle Community College school community, working closely with our Deputy Principal, Ms Liston, and together we lead a dedicated and committed team of staff who place students at the centre of everything we do. Our team includes our Assistant Principals I and II, over 40 teaching staff, Special Needs Assistants, ancillary staff and our wider support team. The professionalism, expertise and commitment of our entire staff team contribute to the continued development of our school and to the positive experience we strive to provide for every student. Together, we work to ensure that every young person is supported, encouraged and given every opportunity to achieve their potential.
Our fundamental focus is on the student experience. At the heart of this is a strong commitment to academic excellence and to providing every student with a high-quality education that challenges them, supports their individual needs and enables them to reach their potential. Alongside this academic focus, we provide a wide range of opportunities that allow students to develop their interests, talents, confidence and skills beyond the classroom. We actively promote opportunities for student leadership, participation, creativity, sport, enterprise, culture, wellbeing and personal development. We want our students to leave Nagle Community College with strong academic foundations, together with the confidence, skills and experiences to make a positive contribution to the world around them.
We are proud to be an inclusive and progressive school community, with innovation at the centre of what we do. We continually look at new ways of teaching, learning and engaging with our students, ensuring that our school responds to the changing needs and aspirations of young people. We want our students to be active participants in their education, with their voice at the centre of our decision-making and school development.
Partnership is equally important to us. We recognise that education works best when schools, families and communities work together. Our parents and guardians are key stakeholders in the life of Nagle Community College, and we value their voice, contribution and partnership. We are also proud of our strong links with our local community, recognising the many opportunities that these relationships create for our students.
